She didn't want to go home just yet. It was about midnight, and the town of Bon Tempt was deserted right about now. It was slightly chilly, but her sweater kept her warm enough. She pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose and pushed a stay lock of hair back behind her ear. Her hazel eyes looked at her feet as she walked alone down the empty streets of the town. Her father had found out where she hid gas money for her truck and she had to walk all over town to get to her jobs.
This always happened. She'd have to hide money for her to be able to keep it for other uses and not booze. She didn't want to go home... But right about now, her father was probably sticking his head into the toilet and puking his guts out. Or, with her luck, he probably didn't even make it to the toilet. Great.
Loraine kept her cell phone in her hand in her pocket, cautiously listening to her surroundings. Not much besides the breeze rustling in the winds. She knew it would do any good to be cautious with vampires running around or something. She had never actually met one, but she heard they can move without a sound. Which made them all the more interesting to her. But, there were creeps and crack heads running around at this time of night, or maybe they had all made it to Shreveport for now.
Loraine sighed visibly and looked up into the night sky and watched the stars as she walked, being a little to absent minded. "Oh how I need a shooting star to grant me a wish..." she whispered to herself.

She had no place to be, and she had no where to go, so she was passing time by doing her favorite thing. And that was using her favorite shifting form to travel from place to place. Menley Nichols was just another labeled freak of Bon Temps, and she had to learn to accept that. It was something that life threw at her, and she was going to take it in stride. So, that being said, the young woman had managed to sneak off and shift into her horse form. Her hooves stepped lightly over the ground as she traveled, and she used her dark coloring to blend into her surroundings. She was big in this form, but she was also extremely agile and light on her feet. She knew the ins and outs of this shape, and that was why it was her favorite. Tossing her head slightly as a breeze picked up, Men stepped forward at a quicker pace.
She trotted quickly now, lifting her knees up and enjoying herself for once. Snorting in delight, the young horse barreled forward suddenly, taking in the long dirt road before her. She was born to run, in every sense of the saying. Even in her human form she couldn't stay still. Her long legs stretched out now, and her stride allowed her to cover ten times the distance her human feet would carry her. Her hooves thundered over the terrain, and she honestly wasn't worried about anyone running into her. Bring them on. She was ready, and she was willing for a fight if they wanted to start something with her. Menley wasn't the young woman who hid behind others. She'd step up to a challenge and she'd make sure she left some sort of impression. Her fiery and feisty nature brought out that defiance in her.
As she galloped along, she was suddenly aware of a presence around the bend in the road. That's another thing she appreciated about her animal forms. She could sense things a lot better. Skidding to a halt, she tried to remember where she had hidden the clothes she used when she was out. That's why she always ran on this road because she made sure she hid clothes in case she had to shift quickly. Disappearing into the foliage, she shifted into her human form, trying to keep herself covered even in the darkness. Finding the bundle of clothing, she quickly shoved the jeans on, then followed by her tee shirt and black zip up sweatshirt. Throwing the hood over her long dark brunette wavy locks, she peered out onto the road and saw no one coming. Feeling relaxed for the moment, she stepped out with her converse sneakers, hoping no one had seen her in her horse form. Walking along, she shoved her hands in her pocket and felt her knife there. She would be safe enough.
It was then that she heard the whispered words. Her skin crawled and the hair on the back of her neck rose. She hadn't been expecting that, but the voice sounded feminine. Furrowing her brow, she picked up the pace and then saw the form ahead of her. She decided to make herself known so as not to speak the young woman.
"Hey...you okay?"

Loraine looked down from the stars and back down at the road. Some distant sounds caught her attention, sounded like hooves? Hm... It went silent. Oh well, she must be going crazy, nothing new. She went on walking down the street, pushing her glasses back up her nose .
"Hey...you okay?" said a voice from behind her. Loraine jumped, the sudden voice scaring her and she spun around. Loree saw a woman walking up behind her. Loraine put a hand over her heart and sighed.
"My gosh, you scared me." she said in a fluster. She waited for the girl to catch up to her. "But yes, I'm fine... Just walking home." she said glancing around uneasily. It wasn't like someone to be out at night like this... Ok, stupid comment, because she was out like this as well.
"What are you doing out this late in these parts?" she asked quietly. It was like her to be more concerned about others then herself. It was just her nature. ((OOC: Sorry it's not too lengthy, couldn't think of much for her to do.))
