Stupid. That was what she was. She couldn't believe that she was stupid enough to leave her apartment keys at work. So here she was, trudging back down the road again, praying and hoping that she could somehow break into the shop without having too many questions asked. She knew how to pick a lock just as well as the next con artist. Oh no, Menley wasn't worried about getting into the shop. It was if she got discovered getting into the shop that worried her the most. She was new here, and her word wasn't going to go very far in the local police station. She honestly didn't want to be making enemies this early in the game either, so Menley was going to be as honest as possible if any alarms went off. But hey, this was a small town. Who installed alarm systems nowaways anyway? Who was she kidding? This was Bon Temps, where everything out of the ordinary had been happening lately. She should be expecting alarms everywhere she went. How silly of her.
Menley sighed to herself as she stumbled along, half blind in the dark. She could shift, that much was for certain, but she didn't want to deal with the missing clothes when she needed opposable thumbs to get into the shop. Being found naked and breaking into a car shop was going to look a lot worse than just plain old breaking into an auto shop. She could shift into something small and find some hole, but that something small might not be able to drag her keys back out. This was just a lose lose situation. Menley sighed softly to herself and then just shook her head. Oh well. This kind of exercise was good for the soul. However, she just wished that this exercise didn't involve her walking down a pitch black dark road that was rull of ruts and ditches. She wasn't the most graceful individual made in this lifetime, and that worried her. She had enough injuries already to last her a lifetime because of her clumsiness curse. She didn't need anymore because of her lack of intelligence for the moment. Menley could punch herself. Repeatedly. Instead of creeping along in the chilly night air she could be home cuddled in bed. But no. No, she had to forget her keys. And she had to live on the top story of the building so she couldn't pick the lock or jimmy open the window if she wanted to. This was just ridiculous in so many ways.
Menley hugged her arms around her small body for the time being. Her teeth were chattering because of the chill and she believed a vampire could hear them from a mile away. Menley didn't trust anyone, but vampires were not high in her books. She wasn't afraid of them. She just didn't trust them. It was as simple as that. She really hoped she didn't run into one. That would be just what she needed. Shaking her head, Men decided to pick up the pace. She now hurried along, trying her best to watch the ground and look around her at the same time. But coordinated she was not. And in another second, the young brunette was tumbling head over heels, the toe of her boot having caught a rut in the road. She didn't fall gracefully either. She landed face flat in the dirt, spitting the grime out of her mouth as she inhaled it all. Her knees throbbed from bracing her fall, and her palms were all skinned up as well.
"You have got to be kidding me. Way to go Men, way to go."
Muttering to herself as she pushed up into a sitting position, Menley remained on the ground for now to check for any obvious injuries. Her lower lip was bleeding rather proficiently because of the face plant, and she was doing all she could to stem the bleeding. Ignoring that for now, she checked out her hands in the dim moonlight. The crimson liquid was gathering rather quickly there as well, and as she inspected her knees, she felt the familiar sting and blood as well. This was fun. Still muttering, Men held her sleeve to her lip, trying her best to fix the mess she had created. Sometimes she just couldn't believe her obvious lack of grace...and femine qualities. Seriously. What kind of girl tripped over her own two feet and bloodied herself up? This was just wonderful.
